Govt.nz: United Nations Public Service Awards finalists

Well done Govt.nz!

The Govt.nz team were delighted to learn they were finalists at the 2015 United Nations Public Service Awards (UNPSA) for their nominated category, ‘Promoting Whole-of-Government Approaches in the Information Age’, one of four categories available.

The UNPSA is the most prestigious international recognition of excellence in public service rewarding the creative achievements and contributions of public service institutions worldwide.

Making it to the finals is huge kudos to the Govt.nz team recognising all the hard work and ongoing efforts to make government information easier to find and use online, and working towards providing better public services.

There were three winners named in the ‘Promoting Whole-of-Government Approaches in the Information Age’ category:

  1. First Place Winner: Work Right initiative — Singapore
  2. First Place Winner: Thailand Holistic School in Hospital Initiative (HSH) — Thailand
  3. Second Place Winner: Integrated Service Unit on Poverty Relief — Indonesia

Since Govt.nz launched in July 2014, it continues to make iterative improvements based on evidence from user testing, feedback and analytics. More recently, Govt.nz has partnered with agencies to add information and functionality to improve the experience for the user. The recent design refresh also received international interest due to addressing some of the barriers that users with low literacy face when searching for information online.

The UNPSA will be presented in Medellin, Colombia at the UN Public Service Day and Forum from 23–26 June 2015.
