GWC session: stays user-centred

The team is seeing increasing support for cross-agency and user-focused digital content across the public sector. is being used as a platform to achieve this since it was built to make it easier for users to find, access and use government services online.

What recently published two major pilots on the site: One involved moving Births, Deaths and Marriages content from the Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) site to The other was about bringing together information and services across different agencies and topics for older New Zealanders.

At this lunchtime session, Diane Sieger (Product Manager), Meg Howie (Web and Service Designer) and Katherine Barcham (Content Designer) will talk about what we did during these pilots including:

  • what it was like to work across DIA as well as with different government agencies
  • how content was fact checked
  • user testing
  • the challenges and how we resolved them
  • the new templates that evolved into a different way of structuring our content.
