The Web Standards team from the Department of Internal Affairs is planning for the next Government Web Standards self-assessments. Based on the outcomes and feedback from the 2014 self-assessments, we’re envisioning a simpler process that is easier for agencies to implement. Our aim is to build a tool that agencies can reuse for their own purposes, while still delivering a practical benefit for agencies’ websites and DIA’s all-of-government reporting.
We’re currently in a discovery phase to identify and confirm stakeholder needs and user stories for an ongoing Web Standards self-assessment programme. Agency web practitioners and others involved in the delivery and assessment of government websites against the Web Standards are invited to an open discussion to share their insights. We’d appreciate your thoughts on the 2014 process and your help in developing an improved self-assessment approach so that it meets your needs and expectations.
