As the National Manager Marketing & Communications for New Zealand Blood Service, Asuka (pronounced Ask-a) Burge is responsible for the development and implementation of campaigns for the recruitment and retention of volunteer blood donors, donor recruitment resources and the overall marketing strategy. Brand, market research, social media and ensuring good public relations are also the responsibility of her team. Asuka has a conjoint Commerce and Law degree majoring in Marketing. She joined the New Zealand Blood Service in early 2007 and is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketers.
